Our company was started many years ago through the sudden passing of my younger brother. Salvage Maria was born through the beauty from my ashes and over the years the brand has evolved to what it is today! Maria, my Zapoteca mother goes all over Mexico to source our beautiful textiles and build direct partnerships with our artisans. We’ve helped revive some of the traditional hand weaving arts in certain areas that have been slowly fading away. The yarns used for some of our blankets are made from recycled clothing! Our other fabrics and textiles are globally inspired and we use dead stock and salvaged materials within our designs. Nothing goes to waste; every scrap and remnant is saved for future inspiration! We are located in the heart of Venice, CA where we draw from the cool-boho beach vibes that we merge within our Mexican roots, to create our unique aesthetic. We handcraft everything in East LA and every piece has a person carefully crafting it from start to finish. We always try to work with locally owned businesses. We strive to be eco friendly with our materials. We believe in supporting our community. We work with several dog rescues and charities near & dear to our hearts. We try to be thoughtful of what we are putting out here and pour lots of Amor & Alma into everything we do! I hope it shows!
